Traci Higginbotham is quickly becoming one of Southern West Virginia's most diverse and recognized multi-media artists. Most of Traci's work is done with bright and vivid colors to reflect her enthusiasm for art and its many facets. Traci's career began early on when her family moved to West Virginia from Ohio when she was a young girl. She very quickly recognized the beauty of West Virginia and wanted to embark on a path to art. Traci graduated from The University Of Charleston in 1997 with degrees in art and design. She decided to use her knowledge and enthusiasm by going to work for one of Charleston's premier galleries, where she worked for several years. After pursuing her desire to have her own business, Traci wanted to get "back to her true roots" in art and has been managing another Charleston art gallery for the past 4 years. Her current situation allows her to focus on her own art while helping others get started and grow in the art world. Her various sized screens have become very popular in the Southern West Virginia area, as they have an amazing effect on bringing color, dimension, and depth to any area needing those elements. All screens are created very slowly using high, lightfastness acrylics mixed with other medias. The average screen size is 36" wide by 72" high and has full coverage on both the front and the back, allowing for different moods to be brought to any room. Traci has been working with different techniques in bringing multi-medias together through some very interesting and complicated collages. These collages are done on both flat and dimensional media, giving each collage its own uniqueness. Recently, Traci has begun to weave yarn and hemp items. These items bring a whole new outlet for her to weave several multi-medias together from a perspective that is different from any of Traci's other works. Also, Traci continues to work on her one of a kind jewelry, such as pins and table boxes.

We hope you will check back often as we add some of Traci's new works to her webpage.
