Mr. Tonglu Zhang is one of the greatest chief architects of modern Chinese Cloisonné art form. Mr. Zhang has nearly 50 years of experience with the Cloisonné process of research and development.
Mr. Zhang integrated and created various art techniques forming his own unique style. He has received many awards both at home and abroad. He developed the enamel production process and received a national patent in 1987. The Cloisonné painting is part of Zhang’s works; his major works are Cloisonné vases and other high quality art treasures. Following Mr. Zhang’s procedure, these paintings are made of wood as a foundation; in filigree welding, the artist pinches and curves copper filigree into delicate flower patterns, pasting them onto the copper molds; then a glaze is painted on and dried in a high-temperature environment, in order to firm the metal and cast its gorgeous colors forever. Its delicate appearance and splendid patterns should emit warmth that rivets the gaze, and leaves one too infatuated to part with it. |
