;CALADAN GALLERY; ;“ETERNITY” ;; ;;FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ; ;PRESS CONTACT: Marjorie Kaye ; ;@Caladan Gallery ; ;(978) 741-7979 ; ; CALADAN GALLERY presents “Eternity”, a juried exhibition of 26 national and international artists. The reality of eternal existence is evident visually in this exhibition. We have found that it is through the contrast of light and dark, use of texture, color, and composition that the concept of endless space and time has made itself evident. This, of course, rides parallel to the subject matter illustrated directly, some of which quite explicitly approaches the matter in its pure form. Some artists have depicted this through an exploration of death and decay, as well as the notions of beauty, and even love. Others have made an energetic and scientific mirror of reality from the manifestation of artistic expression. ; ;Caladan Gallery exhibition dates are September 10 – October 9, 2006. For more information, please call (978) 741-7979 or email us at director@caladangallery.com. ; ;MORE ABOUT ARTISTS; ;; ;;Jeffrey Allyn comes to us from Oakland, CA. He writes of his work: "Music is the inspiration for my mindscapes. Texture is the foundation on which color and light dance. Music punches the beat and soul of the paintings, allowing the changes of daylight to renew the focus each canvas reveals. Exploiting the chemical and physical nature of oil paint to erupt in fiery colors and gyrating paint strokes inspire these pieces. Art can be viewed at every level of the physical universe, and often times for me, far beyond. Please enjoy the mindscapes." ; ;The key words, I think, are "reflection", "refraction", "glimmer" and "texture"! - Marjorie |
