When I was a little child, I have already had a great admiration for the great masters of a paintbrush. The more I have looking at their works, the greater was my admiration and a wish to create myself started growing inside me. For me the painting is not only a painting; it is a poem, it is a story, and in general, the painting is a way of thinking, for which there are no limits nor rules. What is my place in the world and what exactly do I want to express on my paintings? The real question could sound: What it is that I want from life and what it is that I want to give in return? I’ve begun to direct my thoughts towards me, towards meaning of existence but also towards every man, every human being. What it is that makes us human, with what we are different from other living beings and what is the thing which is common to all people? The common things irrespective of where we live, on which continent, what kind of culture are we carrying within ourselves, from the primeval age until now. Soon afterwards I’ve begun to understand it: To be an artist, it is not enough to handle the technique without any mistake, neither to choose the right motives for your paintings. |
