Pondus in latin means “ weight”. In this sculpture all is based on the contrast between heaviness and lightness, inert mass and levity. The static and heavy body, just “the weight” of the upper part of the sculpture, leans on very brittle violet starks that stretch out multiplying and corroding the lower surface. All here is instable also the same structure is inclined laterally , standing in a surprising equilibrium, almost a methaphor of the seeming fragility and the superficial steadiness, always subject to crumbles with a simple puff of wind.
