Jacques Derrida, the greatest writer, thinker, and philospher since Plato, argued the supremacy of text over sound, of writing over speech, thus, by implication of blogging over talking.
I always prefer email to phone conversations. I prefer books to parties. I prefer inscription to vocalization. I am a 100% Derrida devotee.
It's better to read 30 pages of Derrida and only understand 3 sentences, than 300 other books of which you understand all of it.
Those 3 sentences will do you more good than all those 300 easy books.
Writing and Difference, Margins of Philosophy, The Truth in Painting, Disseminations, Speech and Phenomena, Of Grammatology, The Archaeology of the Frivolous are among my personal favorites of Jacques Derrida's books.
I am now reading Between the Blinds: A Derrida Reader.
