The Painting Process.   The draft has been exhibited on www.lonvig.dk, that is my own web site or one of the online world wide galleries in USA, France, UK, Italy or Spain. A gallery or a customer has bought the painting.
Artistic concept.   My way of making art and design. My view of art and design is controversial. When I make drafts I use a pencil, a filling knife, a brush, a computer or something else.

About perception – about symbolism

Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia: Perception is the process of attaining awareness or understanding of the environment by organizing and interpreting sensory information. All perception involves signals in the nervous system, which in turn result from physical stimulation of the sense organs.

English writer and dramatistDouglas Adams (*1952): Everything you see or hear or experience in any way at all is specific to you. You create a universe by perceiving it, so everything in the universe you perceive is specific to you.

Swisspsychiatrist C. G. Jung (*1875): The essence of C. G. Jung’s theory on perception is that much seemingly random variation in behaviour is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the way individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment.

Chinese Philosopher Confucius (*551 BC): Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. To know is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge. When we see men of a contrary character, we should turn inwards and examine ourselves.

Perception I

Perception II

Symbolism

Asbjorn Lonvig has made these works because he wants to establish perception is psychologically and philosophically one of the most important issues to humanity.

The art work consists of 2 motifs.

2 motifs which seen separately are seemingly identical. However if you look closer you will realize that they are not – not at all. Few elements are identical – the theme is the same but the actual shapes are not. They symbolize different perceptions of the same incident or object. They symbolize that two or more incidents or objects will be conceived differently by different human beings when their sense organs, like sight, hearing, sense of smell etc. are stimulated.

Everything an individual sees, hears, smells etc. or experiences in any way at all is specific to that individual. Perception is the outcome of the individual’s inherence and experiences to make things orderly and consistent.

People must accept the individuality of perception.

Perception is individual and questionable.

Perception is not to know.

Perception is to know nothing.

To know is to know that you know nothing.

So Much...
Dear Mr. Lonvig, I have just begun to look at your paintings. My favorite so far are Grand Canyon Blue, Everest Blue, and Sad days indeed. Sad days indeed is so truethful to the language of art. I wish I had better words to describe the fulfillment of emotion Sad days indeed has for me. Thank you, Kelly Jo Schehr
