I am a sculptor and painter, as well as poet and fiction author (in Russian). I was born in the Ukraine in 1926 (back when it was part of the Soviet Union), and went to the Leningrad Art School and later the Kiev Institue of Art. I was a member of the USSR Artists' Union (which was not easy for someone like me, who specialized in nude female statues and still-lives). In 1979 I came to the United States in 1979 and have been residing in New York ever since. I have participated in numerous exhibitions over the course of my life. Currently, I am working for my own pleasure, as well as fulfilling occasional orders for oil portraits. I am looking for a good home for my statues: my apartment is way too small for them! Among his teachers I count Phidias and Aristide Maillol. I pride myself on being able to marry tradition and modernity. Please visit my Web site, http://www.sculptors.us. |
