Storm Fine Arts, Market Place, Burnham Market, Norfolk PE31 8HD (Tel: +44 (0)1328 730 675) A selection of my figurative art photography, together with previously un-shown abstract paintings will be on exhibition at Storm Fine Arts in Burnham Market from 2nd December. I love Storm Fine Arts gallery. Can’t recommend it too highly! Situated in the heart of Burnham Market in Norfolk, the gallery is simply stunning. There’s so much to see there. Every nook & cranny is filled with diverse & unique art. ‘Storm’ is constantly ‘buzzing’ with art loving tourists & locals and the village setting (in which the gallery is situated) is really beautiful. Burnham Market brims over with pretty teashops & boutiques and the beach is just a few miles away. Storm Fine Arts is packed full of an eclectic array of amazing artworks acquired from famous artists around the World, as well as from up and coming ‘local’ artists (like me!). The owner (Jolly) is a young & highly regarded artist in his own right, so the constantly changing exhibitions he selects are a breathtaking mix of the old, contemporary & future style trends. I’m extremely honoured to have the opportunity to exhibit with Storm Fine Arts. The Stockbridge Gallery, High Street, Stockbridge Hampshire SO20 6EU (Tel: +44 (0)1264 810142 ) Nine of my minimalist line drawings of dogs were exhibited in their ‘Magic of Monochrome Exhibition’ and a large selection of my illustrative ink line drawings (depicting dogs) are now available at The Stockbridge Gallery, to view & buy. This is another of my favourite galleries! Beautifully located, in theTest Valley(river) area of Hampshire, Stockbridge inspired so many writers that there’s a poetry trail of ten poems, set in stone, metal and glass, all around the town centre…..! Perfect for a poetry loving artist/writer like me! Once again, this is a highly respected & prestigious gallery so yet again it’s an honour for me to exhibit my drawings there. If you’re a dog lover, this is a gallery you really must to try to visit. As you walk in, you are greeted by stunning, life-size sculptures of ‘dogs being dogs’ and find yourself gazing at an amazing selection of paintings depicting virtually every breed of dog you can think of! The Stockbridge Gallery has something to suit every dog lovers taste & budget…and the drawings by Zizi Lagadec should bring a smile to your face too….so I’m told!!!! |

The Mistress by Zizi LagadecCrushed & crumpled, lies the paper tissue in her palm
Loves tears, cool as raindrops mixed with soothing balm
Soft & clammy, clings the silken bodice to her breast
Fears scent, sweet as honey lingers from his chest |

You will find me by Zizi LagadecIn warm, sultry seas, where anemones dwell
Where the octopus sleeps on a beautiful shell
Where nothing is said, for there’s nothing to tell
You will find me |

La Vérité by Zizi LagadecHe lied
As they drove from the airport
He lied
As he kissed & caressed her, then slowly undressed her

Art Concept: When asked to describe my art concept, I know I should try to sound 'arty' & talk of using a unique combination of illustrative and figurative minimalism to create my ink line drawings. However, the truth of the matter is that I don’t have an art concept. I have not analysed the form my work takes, nor studied or borrowed techniques used by the Old Masters or other contemporary artists. My work is simply form or matter exactly as I see it & my abstract pieces represent emotions so varied & complicated that I need a myriad of colours to express them! Whether classed as illustration, minimalism or borderline pop art, my drawings form unconsciously in my mind. I think I actually see in lines! So, whenever I notice a person or creature I find inspiring, whether I encounter these subjects in the flesh, or in photographs, I feel compelled to recreate the image or impression they have formed, in my mind, onto paper. Each of my drawings is created totally freehand, eye to pen. I use no enlarging or tracing. So, just one wrong line stroke results in a drawing being thrown away & started again. The most important thing, for me, is to see (or feel) emotion in my subjects. Beauty is not enough. My abstract paintings are created at random, whenever the expression of emotion is too strange, unworldly or quirky to express as a drawing. Music & emotion create colours in my mind that cannot be conveyed in lines, so I paint instead! However, most recently, by adding colours, to prints of my line drawings, I have discovered a further outlet for my abstract expressionism. Art photography is another medium I love to work in. The possibilities are infinite and each original piece reveals segments of my mind & the way I think. Biography (in brief): Training at school & college towards a career in graphic art, I also studied Criminal Law, Contract Law and Quality Assurance with Production Engineering. Circumstances dictated a career direction within Quality Assurance, Contract Law & AutoCAD (engineering drawing), but I was later able to change career direction & to develop a 3D Garden Design business. The 3D AutoCad drawings & 3D Garden Designs both afforded me an outlet for my suppressed creativity, but naturally, I had always to work within constraints!! However, I was first inspired to produce 'unconstrained' art following opportunities to live in the South of France (for 7 years) & through prolonged trips to Egypt, where I stayed with an unforgettable, warm & vibrant Egyptian family in Cairo & by The Red Sea. The quality of light in the South of France & Egypt was inspirational & will remain with me always. These life-changing experiences helped me evolve further as an artist. http://www.wobblybridge.co.uk/art/zizi-lagadec/ http://www.saatchionline.com/zizilagadec http://www.artgallery.co.uk/artist/zizi_lagadec http://www.dogsinart.com/categories/View-by-Artist/Zizi-Lagadec/, http://www.stormfinearts.com/public/viewArtist.asp?AID=566 http://buycomicart.co.uk/ZiziLagadec.aspx, |
