Ramil Latypov was born in 1952 in Ufa, Bashkiria. At 1978 graduate of the Ufa Art Institute he started exhibiting his paintings in the early 70's. Since then Latypov participated in numerous exhibitions in Bashkiria aswell as in other parts of the former Soviet Union. Latypov is a member of the Russian Federation Artists Union.
Latypov is an accomplished figurative painter whose specialty is different techniques traditional and original print making. His accomplishments in the field brought him a wide recognition in Russia and abroad. In 1988 he was invited to participate in the international exhibition of small prints in Del Bello Gallery, Toronto, Canada, where he exhibited his mezzo tint series.
In 1991 Latypov successfully participated in the Sapporo International Exhibition of prints in Sapporo, Japan.
Since 1989 Latypov regularly is invited to exhibit his work in England. His graphic series, original mixed media on paper, and oil paintings art equally well known and publicized. As a figurative artist Latypov produces numerous studies of a human figure placing it in various circumstances and surroundings. His style is ranging from fantastic realism to mythological and cosmological improvisations, from realistic portraiture to ironic mannerism.
Latypov,s favorite period in Fine Art history is the beginning of the XX century and art modern which greatly influenced the artist by refining his stylistic approach and by restricting his usage of color to reach an aloof harmony.
Latypov's portrains on the other hand display another side of his talent - a deep understanding of the emotional characteristics of his sitters. The artist's imagination places his characters into a different light of their inner emotions that he brings out in his portraits re-inventing the harmony between what appears to be on the surface and what is hidden inside of every human being conditioned by time and society. His paint and brush strokes swiftly take both, the subject and the viewer, on a Journey to timelles re-emergence, freely manipulating different attributes of cultural and historic references.
In 1996 Latypov spent half a year in the United States working in the California desert, which inspired him to create a great number of paintings. This resent series of work reflects Latypov's emotions and reactions to a different cultural and natural phenomena the artist experience in America: The infrastructure of the cities & highways, cosmic and challenging beauty of the landscapes, and generosity and good nature of the American spirit.
