My name is Deana, I am a mother of two grown children and wife to a Canadian chiropractor. Athough I was born in England I now live in Canada and have done since 2001. By training I am an teacher for 5-9 yearolds but my teaching career was abandoned in favour of raising the children. Later on I was to have a minor role in the running of my husbands practice.
The two passions in my life are painting and horses and now free to indulge them, I use my assortment of animals as subject matter for painting. I have painted intermittently over the past two decades water colour portraits, sometimes doing the occasional commissioned work. Recently I have returned to the medium of my training using oil exclusively. I am pictured here with my sister to the left, overlooking the pond on our beautiful Canadian property.
I am very grateful for Arts Cad as it is the only exposure for my paintings, up until recently they have been accumulating in my basement unseen by anyone but friends.
I joined Artscad in 2008 and I am pleased to say that it has been a useful tool in helping me to keep focused on painting. My work is displayed at present in my home where my husbands practice is located and we have a stream of people through every day. Their comments been very encouraging, so I am applying to have my work included by a local community gallery. More information coming soon. (September 2010)
