TWO - Art that demands a second look

Two’s company; two heads are better than one; there are two sides to every
story. The Tate Sisters are two siblings, living in two separate countries,
working together as artists with one vision and twice the inspiration. Emeline
Tate has recently moved to America, while Claudia Tate continues to live and
work in London.

There are two meanings to the paintings in this exhibition, exploring the idea
that each can be interpreted in more than one way.  They are displayed here on
two floors.

Bold colours, shapes and typography dominate the work, and fabrics such as
denim
and white canvas provide a starting point that influences the tone — be it dark
or light. The paintings are for sale:

* £200 each 60x60cm size
* £400 each 100x100cm size

The Tate Sisters Biography

Emeline and Claudia Tate are two sisters and artists, living in two separate countries.  They work together with one vision and twice the inspiration.  Words, colours, and images are used to express their ideas - which are inspired by overheard conversations, things seen, and personal experiences.  Emeline has recently moved to California, while Claudia continues to live and work in London. They have participated in over twenty exhibitions in London and four in California. The Tate Sisters continually display art in their house in London and use the ground floor as a gallery which is open by appointment.
