The BEST OF SHOW WINNER was announced: Brian Powell for his collection of Black and White photography.

Curator's Choice Awards were presented to Bruce Richardson for his photographs entitled "Fall Morning" and "Dark Rushmore", Rosspilot for his photograph entitled "Tribute", and Karl Gaetjens for his black and white abstract work entitled "Free".

Brian Powell has been shooting professionally since he was 21 years old. He has gained a reputation as a master Black & White printer, working and consulting with a broad range of photographers and artists. "The images presented in this gallery were shot with a Leica M4 on Kodak Black & White Infrared film. I experimented with many developers and eventually mixed my own in order to manage the contrast and tonal range of this exceptional film", said Brian.

Photographer Lee Ross, known as "Rosspilot", has been flying for more than 30 years. He has established himself as a specialist in acquiring images from his small single-engine airplane, and his work can be found hanging on walls in almost every country in the world and in every corner of the United States. Ross began selling his photographs in Soho, where he continues to display them on weekends. His images have been published in Europe and the United States.

Ross is National Vice-President of the Professional Aerial Photographer's Association, International and has served on the Board of Directors for the last 3 years. Last February, he was awarded the designation, "Master Aerial Photographer". In 2002, his image, "Tribute" was awarded "Best Technical Achievement" by his colleagues in the Aerial Pro International Forum.

Karl Gaetjens has been working as an Architect as his career, however, in 2003, he discovered digital art. He describes his passion in his artwork, "To illuminate the profane, that beyond the incoherent masala of shapes and colors, the artist can awaken within the observer, intense sensations and sublime emotions, he becomes a catalyst of sorts, by his complicity, initiating a unique internal quest rising from his emotions...A new dream dawns, voyage experiences alive with renewed intensity at every turn. To fulfill this commitment, the artist must seek out to seduce the viewers by what he named: "DIGITAL LYRIC ABSTRACTION"

Bruce Richardsons' background in theatre taught him many lessons about art and presentation. His formal training and experience is as a scenic artist. Bruce says "I think I have a point of view to share and work to give the presentation to my audience. My images reflect my view of the world. Some real...some imagined. To photograph - is to capture the scene and tell a story from your point of view..."

Oklahoma City, OK

Education: Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, 1986 Auburn, AL

REPRESENTATION: Design Concepts Unlimited, Inc.

ARTIST STATEMENT: "My art is inspired from my travels and primarily expresses the unique views of architecture, geometric lines, or tropical subjects that I love to see and portray."

Donna has been creative since her early childhood. She came from a creative family where her mother was an artist as well as her two grandfathers. Donna won her first art award when she was 12 years old. She was raised as an Air Force dependent and had the opportunity to travel overseas with her family and lived in places like the Azores, Phillippines, Turkey, and Bermuda. She was torn between business and art while in school. Although, she pursued a business career until 1995, she felt drawn back to her creative side. In 1999, she started to photograph her travels more seriously and in 2000, she began experimenting with various techiques using computer software with her images while living in Italy. She felt compelled to integrate the computer technology that she had learned with her artwork. She combines her love for creating and photography with her passion for travel to create her own collection of black & white photos, color photos, and digital artwork and imagery which she calls Digital Watercolors. Currently, she focuses primarily on her architectural and travel photography.

Donna shares her passion for art with her husband who is also an architect and artist. They currently live in a Villa in Northern Italy.
