 For this Louisiana Artist, life has come full circle.  Darlene's journey in art began her senior year in high school when she took art just to fill her half a day schedule.  Darlene was "hooked" on art from that moment.  She received her Bachelor's Degree in Art/Graphic Design from Northeast Louisiana University in 1986.  A career in Graphic Design left her feeling shallow and unfulfilled.

;

Following the birth of her first daughter Darlene returned to NLU to complete her Louisiana Teachers certification in Art and to make a difference in the world.  After teaching 14 years, the birth of her second daughter and son, Darlene's desire to travel took her to Texas where she received her Texas Teachers certification.  Despite being highly successful in the classroom and helping many art students their dreams, there was still something missing.  That was the freedom to create a legagcy in the art world.  Darlene has quickly gained recognition for her art.

Darlene's painting style is similar to Vincent Van Gogh.  It is through the use of a primary

;

color palette, layering technique, and a free, expressive style that she is able to take the viewer

;

on a journey, an insightful "soulful" journey into the past.
