Having been born in Scotland, grown up in Northern Ireland, trained in England and living and working in Wales - I have a strange accent and I'm not really sure where is home other than Britain. I originally trained in design and weave (tapestry weaving) and have exhibited widely in Britain and internationally. I have completed many large and small private and public commissions as a tapestry artist and continue to do so. However, since the 1990s I have taken an interest in digital work and over a period of time and some specific training, have developed my interest and skills in interactive media. I regularly work with schools and community groups on a wide range of projects incorporating many different areas of digital work - photography, video, audio, animation, graphic design, etc. I have always used photography as a part of my work as a visual artist and in recent years this has become more important to me. ADPhotowalks (www.adphotowalks.com) is a recent venture into presenting my view of the world around me in a way that perhaps describes more of myself than of the places the photographs are taken. The images are intended to be viewed in sequence and with the accompanying audio files - these play automatically on my www.adphotowalks.com website.
