My name is Svetlana Kovelina . I`m a contemporary artist specializing in abstract art, living and working in Moldova Republic. After my fine art education - first at the liceum of fine art, then at the Chisinau State Educational University, I worked as a book designer for many years.
Since 1995 I`m a full time artist and I feel very blessed that I can concentrate on only my art full time.I`m constantly experimenting with defferent materials and art forms. My work have become more abstract over time and totally colour motivated. It gives me more freedom to communicate my visions and feelings, search for harmony of colors and forms.
The meaning of my paintings is not to be found in whatever recognizable objects the viewer might 'see' in them.I would like the viewer to let himself respond emotionally to the abstract shapes, expressionist colours, lines and textures as well as to the way these elements are combined and related to each other. During the last two decade my artworks were sold in a number of commercial galleries in Moldova and are the part of many private collections throughout the world.
