I've been involved in some kind of Art for probably twenty five years. I've done magazine illustration, comic strips, cartoons, book illustration etc. More recently I have decided to paint. I can use watercolours very well but I think it takes a great level of skill to make a watercolour stand out from the vast output of watercolours. Watercolour has almost become a style everyone adopts when using them. I prefer hyper realistic images which require a great deal of technical input . This is why I mainly use Acrylics, or Acrylics with Pencils layered in. This is only a personal preference and I do apprecite most forms of art if I can see a validity or cathartic reason for it. Most of my work is inspired by natural forms and patterns around us. They are all created by the mysterious force of 'Creation'. Much of my work has a strong environmental element to it's inspiration. I'm all too aware that through Capitalism and Progress we burning the entire stock of the Earths fuel resources. As well as being an artist I founded an artists collective called Rogue Gene Collective. Check it out: www.roguegenecollective.com My work has appeared in: Punch, BBR, Strange Attractor, Zero Hour, Rage Before Croquet, The Third Alternative, Lateral Moves, Breakfast All Day, Evesham Journal, Success... And How To Avoid It, Journal Of Silly. |
