monique deleu, born monique Laroy Born in belgium in 1938 Study Physio therapy and worked in the United states one year in Red Bank New jersey, for Dr Heyman Then I became an air hostess at sabena world airlines for 15 years, and married pilote Jean Deleu My mother was a painter Germaine Mot, and I always was inspired by her work, and realy admired her very much I started painting, very early and wanted to learn more and more. In Belgium I followed courses with well knon watercolour painter, Berbadette Galle When we moved in South Africa 27 years ago , I started to take lessons and I still do until now , with different teachers, such as Bobby Vosloo, Moritza Coetzee , and Janette Blom I went to several master classes , from Dale Elliot , and Richard Rennies Africa is a fantastic place to be inspired for painting. First the wild life , landscapes , and the indian ocean, are an ulimited source of inspiration I sell my paintings in Galeries from Cape Town and Sommerset West " Frame and things, and Vincent Galery in East London I also sell in different shops in Ëast London, like Umzi Wethu I enjoy painting and share it with other people My friends and family , love when I give them a painting as a gift !! For 15 years I painted only watercolor, but for the past 5 years I enjoy painting with acrylic and specialy texturise acrylic |
