;I was fond of painting from childhood. I joined Kalabhavan (College of Fine Arts) at Tagore's university at Santiniketan in 1951 but after some months I was shifted to the graduate school due to family compulsions. For six years at Santiniketan, first as a student and then as a teacher, I was closely associated with painting and sculpture at the College of Fine Arts.
I however entered a long academic career in social science after working for M.A.(Lit.) M.A.(Anthropopogy), Ph.D., and D.Sc. I served at five different universities (two abroad) and retired as a Professor of Sociology from the Central University, Hyderabad in 1994.
;
Towards the end of my career (1992) I began playing with digital compositions on PC. I started this seriously from 1996. For someone who had close encounter with fine art at a young age, coming back to painting on full time basis was an enjoyable homecoming. Gradually I have improved and diversified my use of digital tools.
;
;I started with line based figurative and nature works (see samples below) but now I have settled with abstract compositions in sweeping brush strokes. I begin my original freehand compositions in ‘Painter’ and rework these in ‘Photopaint’ and ‘photoshop’. The final result is sometimes very much different from the one that I start with. I work in 2D format only without photographs or scanned images (except those built into various effects available in the software I use).
;
;I have exhibited two one man shows in Hyderabad some years ago and received fair amount of press coverage. I have done more than 500 compositions. I have continued to work in digital medium for over ten years and I believe I have achieved some degree of maturity. I paint for sheer pleasure of it. I am not pressed for selling my art works nor am I good at it.
;
; For art lovers I sell my high-resolution digital paintings as genuine “Originals” - exclusive single editions (one and only one) LaserJet prints on canvas of required size, duly signed and certified. Framing as per specifications and courier, including insurance charges, will be extra. On various Internet websites my unsigned low-resolution small size digital paintings can generally be copied for free. Unsigned better resolution 6 x 8 prints on 8 x 11 size flex can be made available at low cost as open or public-edition.
;
;Essence of digital fine art is in its intrinsic artistic (aesthetic) quality and not in the technique or medium. To me spirit (ideas and feelings) is more important than technical marvel of superbly executed forms.
