I am Lena Chandler and Swedish by origin. I moved to England in my mid 20s and have worked and lived there since. However, Sweden still is close to my heart. I missed out on art until I was well into adult life. Having worked as a PE-teacher, nurse, midwife, complementary therapist and teacher plus being a mother of four I have always been interested energy and atmospher. I am self taught and have attended workshops and classes to get the basic techniques. The first confidence boost was from attnding the famous Canadian artist Ann-Mari Harvey's residential weeks by the med 2000. Strong colours are my passion and combined with sweeping forms makes my style mine. It is an expressive, semiabstact style. We have a second home by the med in northern Spain so the differnt climate, light, culture, colours and food and fauna gives me my inspiration for my paintings. ; ;I belong to Harpenden Arts Society and Linda Smith's Art Group in Hertfordshire both who have regular group exhibitions. |
